Yuki's TV ad

Last few days, whilst going through the photo folder, tis is what i found. The TV advertisement was taken when Yuki was about 3 mths old. How i miss her puppy hood.

Dinner with Australia Judge

Venue : Metropole Chinese Herbal Restaurant, Clarke Quay
Date : 28 August 2008 (Thur)
Time : 1930 hrs

We (me, Shanice and Elsa) had a dinner with the Obedience trial Judge, Mr Keith Millington and his wife, Kathleen together with SKC Ob Chairman, Amy.

During the dinner, we have a nice dinner and a nice chat with the couple. Mrs Kathleen is a shelties lover too and she love English type of shelties, just like me. Why English type of shelties??? Because they are small in frame as compare to America type.

Mrs Kathleen also shown us her shelties, which had already passed away. I love one of the sable shelties, as she had a very very lovable face. I was so envy of their life style in Australia. Hmmm wonder when i can migrate to Australia too.

From the chit-chat session, I have learn a lot of stuff from them, including obedience, agility and of course the shelties.

3 1st in Puppy Show

3 Challenge Cert

166th & 167th Show Conformation, 80th Obedience, 92th Agility & 17 Jumper Trial

At last it over.

As per my previous post , tis trial, i am quite busy cos need to rush for 3 show conformation (Trixee) , 2 Jumper trial (Prince & Meteor) and 2 Agility (Prince & Meteor).

On 24 Aug 2008, wake up at 07.30 am and started to prepare my dogs. Thereafter left home ard 8 am and squeeze all the crates, camera, videocam, bag, treat, nec item, 1 set of running suit, 2 human and 4 dogs (shelties) into our small car.

Upon arrival, we unloaded all the stuff including the shelties and proceeded to the Singapore Expo Hall 6B. After settle all my stuff and my shelties. I rushed for our 1st event, which is Pro Pac Dog Show.

Unexpected for the Pro Pac Dog Show, Trixee managed to get the Challenge Cert (CC). Quite happy as i did not expect her to get any CC, as she is not from any showline. Trixee are 80% workline and 20% showline .

After the Pro Pac Dog Show, we have rush to SKC 166th Show Conformation. This round again Trixee got her 2nd CC.

After the 1st 2 events, i have to rush to change to running attire, to standby for the agility and jumper trial. Tis round Prince & Meteor are trialling for Novice Agility.

For the Novice agility, Prince and Meteor did not make it. Prince failed to do the contact for the dog walk, so NQ. As for Meteor, maybe it was his first SKC trial, he look blur and result NQ cos wrong course.

After Novice agility, Meteor proceeded with Novice Jumper. Not bad as a newbie and 1st time, he got the 2nd placing.

Last event for the dog sports will be Open Jumper for our Prince. Too bad, Prince did not get a cleanrun cos one bar was knocked down by him.

At last Agility & Jumper completed, so another changing parade for me. As Trixee 3rd Show (167th Show Conformation) for her group will be at 4 pm.

Around 4 pm, we proceeded to the show ring. Trixee look tired and was reluctant to walk in the ring. Unexpected our little girl still managed to get her 3rd CC.

As Trixee appear to be very tired, I decided not to show her for her last 2 Best Puppy In Show.

The whole event ended about 7.30 pm, what a tired day.

The result for the whole event:-

*1st in Puppy Show plus Challenge Cert for Pro Pac Dog Show

*1st in Puppy Show plus Challenge Cert for SKC 166th Show Conformation

*1st in Puppy Show plus Challenge Cert for SKC 167th Show Conformation.

Total point earn 30 points. 30points more to go for CH title.

Meteor

* 2nd in Novice Jumper.

Although Prince did not won in his jumper or agility , but still quite happy with his performance. Hmmm need to improve on his contact point.

As for Meteor, he need to trial more often in SKC trial. Cos during his trial, he look blur and scare.

J brought me to East Coast Park and then Nova Sis at Bishan Park to test her shooting skill again.

Busy Schedule

From Aug till Oct 2008, it will be a very very busy & tight schedule or time-table for J.

See belows:-

a) Monday - rest day for J & also for all her dogs to charge their energy.

b) Tue - Agility, jumper & practice attention work for 2 shelties , Meteor & Prince

c) Wed - Obedience & attention works for sheltie, CoCo & BC, Shadow

d) Thur - same as Tue

e) Fri - same as Wed

d) Sat -
*morning for Search & Rescue Dog Training for sheltie, Meteor & BC, Shadow
* Afternoon swimming session for sheltie, Prince & BC, Shadow plus Maltese, Yuki

e) Sun -
Morning - practice jump or weave pole for BC, Shadow
Afternoon - Agility training for Meteor & Trixee
Evening - Agility training for Prince.

Monday is the day that i hate most. Cos it is the first day of work. So don't felt like working just surf net and reading blog from several dog owners from Singapore to UK, from morning till the clock strike 6.

While reading their blogs, there are some questions that came to my mind:-

a) why owner just want a quick way of solving a problem ie obedient even the method that is harsh ?? Is it cos clicker training or positive method are not the best way as it is wasting time and dun see the result immediately ??

b) did we, the owner, asked our dog what they want or they like eg just carry on to train the dog to be more/advance level in obedience even other device is required to use? Is it a must to go further in order to have an obedience dog OR cos the owner want to compete ?

c) When the dog won in the competition, who is more happy, owner or dog ??? what u give ur dog when they won ?? just a pat or a word "good dog" ??

d) when your dog loss in competition , what owner do ? blame yourself or your dog???

e) why some owner just give up on another dog and concentrate the other dog, when they find the 2nd dog got high chance of winning ? Is it the 1st dog really that bad or cos the owner just want to win? Are we fair to the 1st dog and what is the purpose of having a dog???

f) In competition, how many dog we see in the ring are happy and enjoying the game, as in obedience and agility ?? i believe only the owner/handler that enjoy cos of the award their dog achieve.

After been trialling for few years, Prince is the dog that teach me ONE important thing. That is "PATIENCE".

So no matter what dog you have, slow (like CoCo), no drive (like Meteor), over drive (like Prince) and 50-50 drive & full of attitude (Shadow) , just train them with patience. Sooner or later, they will learnt to love you more and give you more than what you expect from them. Don't compare your dog with other.

Training dog for obedience or agility is just a sports for yourself and at the same time teach your dog new stuff.

To my view, going competition is to see how good your dog is. If loss, just go back think what are the thing to improve and not scolding or over train or using harsh method on your dog.

Don't blame your dog, the problem is u, the human. It is the human training method or handling problem that cause the result.

Dog life span is just 10 over years. Why don't like them enjoy themselves and have fun with training.

166th & 167th Show Conformation, 80th Obedience, 92th Agility & 17 Jumper Trial

After USDAA event in July , the next was July Show conformation then National Dog Walk Sport Challenge .

What is the next event ?? It is the 166th & 167th Championship Dog Show, 80th Obedience, 97th Agility and 17 Jumper Trial.

Due to busy time-table such as training Shadow (BC) and so-called not very interested in obedience. J decided to compete for the following :-

a) Prince - Novice Agility
b) Prince - Open Jumper
c) Meteor - Novice Agility (competing wif Prince)
d) Meteor - Novice Jumper
e) Trixee - 3 conformation show (however did not train her to stack:( )
f) CoCo - miss tis round for the obedience (J seem to lose interest in obedience)

Based on the above, J might have to let go one of the show conformation as it might crash with the agility or jumper trial

J new target after Canon 450D

Bracelet Charm. It look nices but J is a very careless and tomboy, so might drop the bracelet without knowing. So yet to decide.

J confirm want this but yet to decide which colour to go.

White or Gold ???

Price for both are the same .

Why ?? J confirm want this???

Because of the following :-

a) the reverse side engrave with the tender words 'Many will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave paw prints in your heart'.

b) What's more, inside there's room for a beloved photo of my furry friend.

Growing Up

Our little Trixee has grow up and J found her look more like Meteor.

May 2008 - 4 mths plus

Height : 11 inch

22 June 2008 - 6 mths plus

Not much different for her, from 5-6 mths

09 Aug 2008 - 7 mths plus

A sudden grow from 6 - 7 mths, taller, body longer and fur longer.

height 14 inch , hoping that she will maintain this height or 1/2 inch max.

NDSG?

What is NDSG?
It is National Day Sheltie Gathering..

Today we wake up very very early as we are going to Pet Movers for our 3rd Shelties Gathering.

At about 10.35 am, we reached Pet Movers. For this time, J was surprise that there are lot of sable shelties as compare to the last gathering at Bishan DR and the turn up was very good.

Total we have 19 shelties.

Of course we enjoyed ourselves especially with so many shelties around and age range from pup to old dog.
